Garlic Scapes

Photo from: goinglocal-info.com

Garlic scapes may be new to you (as they were to me a few weeks ago!), but these are something not to be missed. These are the stems of the garlic plant from which the seed head is formed.  We cut them off so that the plants focus their energy on forming the garlic bulbs rather than the flowers.  A bonus tasty edible!
Garlic Scape Ideas:
-You can add sliced scapes to any stir fry recipe.
-Slice and sprinkle over any pasta, or slice and cook them in almost any sauce recipe.
- Chop & add to softened cream cheese. >>This would go great instead of butter on the Radical Radish Sandwich
