Ripe on the Farm this Week:
Tomatoes Salad Greens
Beans Summer Squash
Peppers Collards/Kale
Grapes Scallions
I got my sweaters out of storage this week to wear in the cool mornings. This last full week of summer is offering the crisp and breezy weather that I love! It’s really time to think about preserving any extra veggies that you have, and we will have more suggestions on how to do that over the next weeks. Last week we completed our last plantings for the season – radishes, lettuce, and bok choy. From here on out we just need to nurture our veggies and harvest! Our fall greens are taking off with a bang, so expect some beautiful, generous greens bunches. Tomatoes are still growing strong and we are working on saving seed from our favorite varieties for next year. Enjoy those grapes again – they are some of the only ones around that are not treated or sprayed with any chemicals. Also, some of the fall roots (turnips, daikon radish, carrots) are only a week or two away from getting into the share! -Annie
